Peru is a country of superlative escenary. We will travel along ancient routes and marvel at the architectural achievements of lone gone civilizations.
We expect to find some rare nocturnal species such as the poorly known Long-whiskered Owlet and iconic endemics as the Marvelous Spatuletail.
We stay at comfortable lodges and hotels, some run by local communities, eat the fascinating local food and experience the REAL Peru!
Peruvian Mammals, amphibians, reptiles and butterflies
The habitats we pass through are host to an enormous diversity of additional exotic and endangered species, particularly butterflies, amphibians (including colourful poison dart frogs) and reptiles. We have experienced local guides for the frog-spotters amongst you or for butterfly enthusiasts wishing to add an extra element to their tour.
Sighting of unusual mammals such as the wild Spectacled Bear are a possibility around Chaparrí Ecological Reserve along with the diminutive Silky Anteater in the Huallaga Valley.
Cultural attractions along the Northern Birding Route include the spectacular Chachapoyan fortress of Kuelap and opportunities to observe Amazonian indigenous communities who reside on the riverbanks of Amazon tributaries.
